Danny and I get to the party just after nine. It's at Tyler's house. He's the quarterback and always hosts the first party of the year. His parents take off for the night, knowing the party will get out of control but not caring if it does. The house isn't anything great but it has a big basement and big back yard, providing space for lots of people. Tyler's mom tells him to keep people out of her bedroom, but other than that, nothing's really off limits. His dad owns a big used car dealership so Tyler's family is considered rich compared to the rest of us. That—along with being quarterback—makes him the most wanted guy by all the girls at school.

The second most wanted guy? Me. But only because I'm seen as a challenge with my no relationship rule. Girls will tell me they just want sex but they're always looking for more. It's why they call me the Destroyer. They think I destroy hearts, but that wouldn't happen if they really were just coming to me for sex.

"So what's your plan?" I ask, gulping down my beer. I wasn't going to get wasted tonight but it might be the only way to get my mind off Brook. I'm sick of her filling my thoughts, taking over my dreams. This morning, I woke up hard as a rock, stroking myself, after dreaming of Brook's naked body draped over my bed. I don't even have a bed but I did in the dream. She was lying there, a slight smile on her shiny pink lips, her breasts perky, nipples taut, her legs spread wide, waiting for me, begging me to fill her. Right before I did, I woke up. Jacob was making noise in the kitchen and took me out of the dream. The kid has horrible timing.

Why I dreamed about Brook and not some other girl makes no fucking sense. Right now, I see at least ten girls giving me that look. The one that says we could go in a room and she'd do whatever I want. Hell, I could probably have two girls at once after winning us the game. Why wasn't my dream about that? At least then I could make the dream a reality.

I think Brook hating me is what makes her so appealing. That's gotta be it. It's like the girls who want me because they see me as a challenge. Knowing I refuse to be their boyfriend makes them want me all the more. If they even just catch my attention, it's an adrenaline rush, the first step in claiming what no other girl could get. I'm finally understanding how they feel. Knowing Brook would never live out my dream, or even kiss me, makes me want her so fucking bad. My cock is getting hard just thinking about it.

I need some relief, and fast. I lock eyes with Christina, one of the cheerleaders who's been trying to get with me since freshman year.
